Needlebook Finished!

Yes, I finally finished my needleboek. I have been stitching it in between, but wanted it to be finished this year. Next year I have so much going on, want to start some new projects, so I was afraid this one would end up to be an UFO. It's a design of Periwinkle Promises, I Love Letters. It is stitched with silks, and has various stitches. It's completely hand-sewn, and I am proud of the way it looks!

And just in time for Christmas I finished this lovely design of LHN, Berry and Hollies. It was a quick stitch, didn't take too much time, but I like the result.

Apart from the trip to Germany I have to show something else. Of course I took my stitching with me, and my daylightlamp (small one, of course), so I could do some stitching in the evening on our room. And I did! Most of the time I have been working on Celtic Mystery XI.

I also made a start on Rose Cottage by CCN, a gift from Stephanie

And I have done some stitching on I Love Letters Needlebook. I hope I will finish it before the end of this year.

There's not much to show, because I have been very busy stitching on some exchanges. One is finished, but the date to send is November 3rd, so I have to keep it a secret. The other one isn't yet finished, I hope to have it done at Oct. 24th.

And I have made a beginning on the finishing of the bourse. This afternoon the finishing instructions came out, and I have been busy with it part of the afternoon, but then there's a part I don't understand. Maybe it is a lack of sewing skills, or I just don't know the stitching terms in English. Anyway, I asked for help and just have to be patient.

I can show you a little progress on 'I Love Letters Needlebook' (Periwinkle Designs). The original chart is saying 'Barabara's Needles" but since my name isn't Barbara, and we don't speak English, I had to translate it in Dutch and center it between the hearts.

I need volunteers to PIF

A few blogs ago I announced I signed in on a PIF and did the offer to stitch for the first three people that signed in, leaving a comment. But it seems only one person takes part in my PIF. What do I do now? Just receive it, and leave it that way? I'll give it a try again, announcing this PIF. Come on, girls I need two volunteers LOL

Last weeks all I stitched is meant for exchanges, I finished and sent off the PS Exchange for HoE and I am nearly done with the Autumn Exchange of the Crazy Exchange Group. I also stitched a little something for a person on the ILCS, that did something very nice for me. So nothing to show this time. Except for a little progress on my Periwinkle Needlebook, I love Letters. The fabric looks blue, but in fact it is white, and I took the picture in daylight, don't understand how the colors became so mixed up.

And this is the start of the stitching I am going to do for the 'Bourse class', on the ILCS. It is a lovely light purple fabric, looks darker on this picture. I am stitching with threads from Needlepaint, created by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum (Lavender & Lace). I bought them this summer in Czech Republic, Prague and have never seen them before (and since).

A Butterfly, a Bird and a Rabbit...again

Remember the animals from a few blogs ago? Here's an update.

The butterfly has found a place on the wall in our livingroom. I hope to enjoy it for years.


The Bird, well, that's finished and I turned it, like I wanted to do, into a flatfold. My first one, thanks to tutorials I found at Vonna's and Meari's blog. Thank you, ladies!

The Rabbit, our little Nijn, survived once again. I nourished him for over a week, gave him his medicine, and he's alive and kicking (figularly spoken) again. He started to eat finally and the last two days he is back to normal. Still refuses to eat hay, so I assume we can wait for the next tooth problems.

I also have some progress to show. I've been stitching on Periwinkle Designs' I love Letters and on a Chatelaine Designs Mystery XI, of which you get a part each month, until you have the whole chart. I am a month behind, hoping I could catch up during holidays, but no... I'm still behind.

And, of course, I am busy stitching some surprises for an Autumn Exchange, a Small Santa Exchange from the Prairie Schooler and I signed up for a finishing class. I have to do the stitching part before the end of september. I also have to do another Prairie Schooler Exchange, so if you don't see me blogging, you now know why LOL.

Holiday stitching affairs

It's too early to rise, but I awoke and it seems I don't fall asleep again, at least not in a moment. So what is a better time to update my blog?

First of all, I was sooooo happy to read Carol received my gifts. I was her partner in a Birthday Exchange, and I received a Crazy Exchange from her a few weeks ago, so I stitched something in return.All I can show at the moment is the CE, since her birthday is about a few weeks. I sent it off early, because I didn't want to take the risk she wouldn't receive it in time.

I forgot to take a picture of the goodies I sent, but luckily, Carol did, so I think it's okay with her I use hers.Last two weeks in Czech Republic I had plenty of time to stitch. I finished a CE that I can't show of course until the receiver has got it. Besides that I stitched a biscornu, only have to finish it, because I didn't have fabric for the back side.

I also finished a little design of Lizzie Kate, Snippet #78 Hop Squared. Luckily I could buy a piece of fabric it was originally designed on, and I have plenty of the fabric left,so maybe I will stitch it again, to give away. Of course I have to do the finishing, I think I will turn it into a pinkeep.

And I made good progress on my WIP, a design of Heaven and Earth Designs, Celtic Butterfly. I think I can finish it this summer, before duty calls again ;)

As always I took too much with me, but you never now what you are willing to do, isn't it? So the things I brought but didn't start or finish are now future plans, waiting for their turn to become WIPS ;)
