Finished exchange and socks

However I didn't get notice of the recipient getting her ornament I think I can post the exchange I made for the HoE Stitcher's Choice Ornament I was involved in. The exchange was mailed over a week ago and the recipient lives in the same country, so she must have it by now. This is what I stitched her, a design I took from the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments 2012. It is  Mosey 'n Me Santa's Helper.
And just before leaving for my trip, together with youngest DD, I finished the KAL Galileo. Two socks, one pattern LOL The colour on the first picture is just the way it is, hard to catch!

Three finishes and a short trip

Thanks to my job I have several vacations in a year. And I enjoy them all! I always think I am able to finish more than usual (I have some extra time, so that thought might be right LOL). Evenso this week. I have three finishes to show.
As a RAK I stitched a little Halloween item and finished it as a small pillow. The receiver let me know she loves it, so I can show it here.
This week I also was able to finish my Red Wine Shawl. It is knitted in fair isle technique and it was quite a challenging project, not only because of the steek you have to cut, but also because it was long time ago since I did some Fair Isle knitting. But I am very happy with the result. It has become a very wearable, warm shawl that can I can wear instead of a coat when temperatures outside get a little bit higher!
DH and I went away for a few days. This time we stayed at a hotel in Weert, province of Limburg, were we had some lovely days. Sightseeing at Weert, Den Bosch, Roermond and Hasselt (Belgium). At the end of this post I'll add some pictures.
On the road I had a  little knitting project, finished it today. Frangiflutti, or, as I call her : Waves.
Some pictures of our trip, as promised at the beginning of this post.

Weert,  in front of our hotel
Roermond, of course I visited a needleshop
Germany, Heinsberg, a field of snowdrops. Spring is coming!

A finished block and a Christmas Ornament

Block eleven is done! I want to have this finished at the end of July, so I'm right on schedule with only one block to go.
And I loved stitching this block, the coulours appeal to me and of course a schoolhouse is my favorite building LOL.
Last Tuesday Carol from the HoE board let me know the ornament I stitched was received and she liked it! I did the finishing on this one twice. At first I finished it as a flat ornament, but the result wasn't like I wanted it to be. It was't flat at all! So I did the finishing again and sent it to Carol only three days late.

Holland Springtime , Jane and exchanges

Lots to show this week! To start with the last, I now can show the Lizzie Kate Christmas Exchange we did on the HoE Group. I received a lovely ornament, stitched by Anne . It is Noel, a Lizzie Kate Flip-it. She added a gorgeous scissor-fob in exactly my colours (she told me she looked at My Tweets to find out what I like, isn't that sweet?)

Of course I sent an exchange too, mine was stitched for Carla, an item from Tiny Tidings XI.

I have been busy this week. Another block added to The Village of Hawk Run Hollow

and the beading on Holland Springtime is almost finished.

Besides that I finished the quilttop of Blonde Jane. I only have to add the border. Don't look in close-up, I didn't iron her ... I'm not going to back it yet, because I have too many quilts asking for more attention. So she just has to be patient....

From now on stitching and quilting will slow down, because holidays are over, next week duty calls!

Small finishes

This week I have been busy quilting on Red Delicious. Another block is done, so only two more to go.

To spare my poor fingers I have been stitching in between. On one of my groups they were going to stitch a scissorfob and I thought it would be nice to join.
We could choose one of the freebees of The Drawn Thread and I decided to stitch Four Fat Friends. However, this isn't meant to be a sciccorfob. It's to big and it isn't square. Stubborn as I am I finished the stitching and decided not to add some backing fabric, but just folded the stitched piece and sew it together on top. It's not my masterpiece, but I am rather satisfied.

I think it's alright to show another finished object. It was sent for a Christmas exchange back in January and I suppose it arrived. The new owner, Gabi, is on holidays for quite some weeks and I think she just isn't at home to unpack.

And I prepared the centerpiece for My Tweets. The pictures aren't very well, I'll give it a try again tomorrow.
The second picture is without flash. Quite mysterious, I think.

Bird Exchange landed

This week was a week of computer problems. Every time I thought I had things solved, another problem became clear. It started with the router that broke down. Guarantee wasn't over yet, so we went to the shop. The router we needed wasn't in stock, so we got a router for the time being.

Then I found out my wireless computer couldn't get the signal from the router. So I went to the shop to buy me 30 meters of wire, to get my computer wired to the router.

Next day my computer broke down. I thought it could be a virus, so I send it into repair. This afternoon it came back, all fixed. But then my flatscreen turned black and stayed that way. Luckily I had another screen ready for trash, so now I'm using it for a while. I hope I will get a new screen next week.

On to stitching stuff. Today I noticed Cindy received my For the Bird's Exchange from HoE. I'm happy she likes it and now I can show it to the world :) I stitched Watermelon, a design by LHN and turned it into a needlebook.

Apart from computertime I also had enough stitching time this week. So I did quite a bit stitching on Foregeone. Finally I am stitching something else than brown! At the left side there are some stitches in light grey, showing the lady's hair is about to be stitched.

I also finished block 2 of Baltimore Bliss.

I prepared block 3, for tomorrow DD and I are going to visit Rotterdam, three hours by train. I plan to take Baltimore Bliss with me.

Two finishes and holidays

Two finishes this week, HOHRH was finished last Tuesday, so I had a happy, happy dance. I started this one in February 2009 and now it's done! And I am so happy with how it looks :-)

I also finished a small one, Betty W. asked me to stitch it for her, as part of a quilt-to-be. It has to be done at the end of June and this afternoon it was sent off to the USA.

From this week on my holidays started, so I don't have to go to work until the end of August. Lucky me!! I have plans to start a new quilt, I want to finish Red Delicious and I want to start the Mirabilia I showed you some time ago.

And today we celebrated our wedding anniversary of 20 years! DH had to work all day, so this evening the family had a lovely dinner together .

Winter Exchange

This week my partner in the Winter Exchange, Anita, received her package, so I can show what I stitched for her. It's a design of Lizzie Kate, Think Winter and I finished it as a wallhanger. My picture showes the ribbon as a different colour than it is in real life, so look here for a better picture :)

And of course I can show you another part of Needlemania 2. I finished part six, so on to part seven, only three to go!

I did stitch as much as normal, but I can't show the results, as they are meant as a gift. March 12th I am meeting seven ladies for a retreat. I finished two gifts, so I have to finish five more...

Holidays and Halloween Exchange

DH and I have been on a short trip to Germany, last week. We fancied a week's holiday, as we used to have at the time our children were still children, but since they grow up they are more and more getting different opinions about what is fun! And a week's holiday with your parents is definitely not fun! So we compromised and left the youngsters at home and left for three days to Germany, Teutoburgerwald. We had perfect weather, no rain, a little bit sunny now and then and we enjoyed being together, preparing on how life will be when DS and youngest DD are going to leave the nest...
Of course we went out for dinner, we took a swim in a Wellness Centre and before we knew it was time to go home again. Some pictures are shown at the end of this post.

There's no holiday without stitching, so I can show some progress on Call of the Raven. But I'll start showing what I received and sent on the Halloween Exchange from the HoE board. This little treatbag went to Tracy, together with some goodies. It's a Prairie Schooler Design, Trick or Treat.

In return I received a beautiful pinkeep, stitched by Marie. She added some lovely goodies too, I sure can use them!

Call of the Raven

And I have been quite busy finishing block 5 of A Kitten's Tale. I did the embroidery during the carride to Germany and today I was able to sew the other parts of it. I have been quite productive!

And now Germany again ...

We couldn't help ourselves, had to write a postcard to them, LOL.

After some shopping we got hungry and enjoyed a 'Deutsche Bratwurst'
