Time to show the last finishes of this year. Not much about stitching, but I did finish some other fabric things. Just in time for Chirstmas I finished this wall-hanging.
And I made this sweet bunch of apples, all in Christmas style!
Finally I finished block 6 of A Kittens Tale, and I think it's a cute one ;)
Now on to the year 2010 and I hope it will be a good one for you all!

Holidays and Halloween Exchange
DH and I have been on a short trip to Germany, last week. We fancied a week's holiday, as we used to have at the time our children were still children, but since they grow up they are more and more getting different opinions about what is fun! And a week's holiday with your parents is definitely not fun! So we compromised and left the youngsters at home and left for three days to Germany, Teutoburgerwald. We had perfect weather, no rain, a little bit sunny now and then and we enjoyed being together, preparing on how life will be when DS and youngest DD are going to leave the nest...
There's no holiday without stitching, so I can show some progress on Call of the Raven. But I'll start showing what I received and sent on the Halloween Exchange from the HoE board. This little treatbag went to Tracy, together with some goodies. It's a Prairie Schooler Design, Trick or Treat.
In return I received a beautiful pinkeep, stitched by Marie. She added some lovely goodies too, I sure can use them!

We couldn't help ourselves, had to write a postcard to them, LOL.

After some shopping we got hungry and enjoyed a 'Deutsche Bratwurst'

Corvey, here's a famous royal library with 74.000 books

Paderborn, Hasenfenster
Of course we went out for dinner, we took a swim in a Wellness Centre and before we knew it was time to go home again. Some pictures are shown at the end of this post.

And I have been quite busy finishing block 5 of A Kitten's Tale. I did the embroidery during the carride to Germany and today I was able to sew the other parts of it. I have been quite productive!
And now Germany again ...

Showtime again :)
In spite of the fact that I have been working again these last two weeks (yes, summer holidays are over and we are heading autumn again) I have been quite productive. Three PIF's are ready to send off (no pictures for obvious reasons). One exchange is received by its new owner. I joined the third exchange of the Year Long Prairie Schooler Exchange and my partner was Angela. I stitched her a part of Book 139, Rain, Rain, Go Away. I stitched it over one and finished it as a flosstag. The pair of scissors is my own, to show how tiny it is :)
I gained some progress at HOHRH, house number four is under construction now.
I also have been busy with of A Kittens Tale, block 2 and this afternoon I finished it! So now I can go on to part three. There will be nine in total.

And of course I have been stitching on Vibrant Vista. I have to confess, not that much, due to my obligations on other stitching.

House number three
I was determined to finish house number three last week and I succeeded (of course LOL) I didn't show you the picture right away, due to the weather. It has been hot in the Netherlands, really hot! As I am getting older (I'm already in my fifties LOL), I can't stand the heat that well anymore. And my craftroom is in the attic, right under the roof, and therefore the warmest place in our house. I simply hadn't the energy to sit there and update my blog. But, today it is much cooler and with the window wide open I can sit behind my computer again without melting like a snowman :)
In a few days holidays are over and we are preparing going back to school and work again. I can't complain as I had nine weeks off from work, being a schoollibrarian at high school has its advantages :)
We had a wonderful holiday, went out for daytrips several times, I had lots of time to stitch and trying out some quilting. There was also time to go for a swim a few times a week and the weather was great, it really was a wonderful summer! And besides all that we went to France for two weeks were we spent quality time with our family!
I started a new project, A Kitten's Tale. The first block isn't finished yet, but the main part is, so I thought I could show already.

Rainy Sunday
Yesterday, after some beautiful weeks (you really get used to that) I was rather surprised getting up and see it was raining. A little bit, so I jumped on my bike and set off to the swimmingpool. Why bother a little rain? But soon the rain poured out of heaven and coming back after my trip I decided it was best to stay at home, sitting on the couch and watch a movie, Twilight. DD joined me :)
Of course I always am busy sewing or stitching while watching a movie. This afternoon I have been quilting and stitching on my Chatelaine, I have to admit, I didn't stitch that much, I don't like the stitching of the border with flowers. I like the way it looks, but stitching them it something else ...
Another thing to mention is this nice award Bonnie gave me. I have to pass it along to a couple of other stitchers and as soon as I saw the award I thought it would be nice to give it to all HAED stitchers of the group I'm in. Ingrid had the same idea and posted before I had the chance. Nonetheless I'll hand the reward over to all the great members of this group.
Talking of HAED, there's also some progress on Vibrant Vista. Page 4 is almost done, I am already moving on to page 10, beneath it.
Yesterday my new floss came in. I bought some beautiful grey colors on ebay, from a dear and talented lady. Her shop is called the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe and she added some nice pinks to compensate me for shippingcosts.
It's been a busy week, with travelling around. I have been visiting a quilting shop, which announced 'Open House' last thursday. I wanted to order some fabrics, but when I noticed the 'Open House' I thought I might as well go and look for myself. I had a lovely day, meeting nice people and came home with a bunch of new pieces of fabric. I also bought a new stitchery design by Lynette Anderson and started right away. Today I finished the top, so all I have to do now is layering and a little bit of quilting. Good practice! I also have to practice on these pinwheels. I notice they are far from perfect!
