Idunn finished

Yes, I finished Idunn this week and I am happy with it! It has a lovely border and is knitted with short rows. Fun to do and although it looks a bit complicated, it really is a no brainer once the border is done.

I can show a little progress on Shadow too, but I am not sure whether I like it or not. some parts are a bit airy and I didn't expect that. I give it a chance and will decide later. 

And there is a new project coming. I will follow a workshop for the start of Sari by Kieran Foley. Just look at these lovely colours I've chosen! Handdyed by Loret Karman.

How many shawls can a woman wear?

The answer is of course, only one at the time (or two perhaps, maybe even three). But the fun is't only about wearing, the fun is also about knitting them. so I knit me another one.... and another ... and another ...

I made some progress on No woman No Cry. Round 119 is done now. Unfortunately I can't show a recent picture, because it is too big to show. All stitches are wrapped on the needles and no pattern can be seen.

I am also doing well on Ruffled Feathers. A green no brainer (Melissa will have fun reading this). almost half way done now.

The Stroll That Stole My Heart is doing great. I've done two reports now and I will try to add a picture by Monday (edited: done!).

My latest finish is Green Hearts, a testknit. A really quick one!

Summer is over, finished projects!

Tomorrow I start working again, summer vacation is over. The weather is adjusting to me, it seems. This week we had lots of rain and much less sun than we used to have since my vacation started. Oh well, that makes saying goodbye to lazy days a little easier ;)
I was able to realize a lot of plans this summer. My first NY quilt is finished! And so are a pair of socks and two shawls.
We also went away for a trip to Germany, I'll show some pictures at the end of this blogpost.
But first pictures of the finished quilt. This one is for youngest DD.

NY quilt number two had to wait a little bit, I think I'll pay attention to my bedquilt first.

Some socks and shawls were finished. Here are my blue socks. They caused some trouble, but I won!

And here is Anybody Out There? It was a fun knit, lots of nupps and lace knitting. A bit of a challenge, but not a too big challenge.

Today I finished My Pride and Joy. The original pattern is named Miss Elliot, by Paulina Popiolek. I love to knit a border like this and I started it on the first day of our trip to Rossbach, Germany.

So far my knitting and sewing. Our trip to Germany was lovely! We had sun, sun, sun and time to relax. The house we stayed in is a dream!

Here are some pictures. We went to some small towns in the neighborhood (Freudenberg, Abtei Marienstadt) and to some bigger cities (Koblenz, Köln and Bonn). 

New adventures

First of all, thank you for your lovely comments on the beautiful shawl I showed two weeks ago. Last week we were away for the weekend (pictures below) so I didn't write a blogpost. I also didn't stitch my Randje per Week. However, in this time of year it seems to me I have lots of time. Time to knit, to quilt and to go out with friends. I don't know if it is just a feeling, or if it is reality. Fact is we are heading towards six weeks (!) of summervacation! time to start some new projects!
I have a finished item again. My shawl, Unchained Melody, is done. The yarn turned out to be very slippery, I had to pay attention to hold the needles very tight, because now and then they tended to slip from the yarn. Here it is unblocked yet, but now it is wahed and on the blocking wires. I'll show the blocked version next week.

We went for a couple of days to Sauerland, Germany. Most people go there in winter (skying), but we hate snow and cold, so we prefer to go there in summer :) Here are some pictures, just to give you anidea.

As you can see we had sunny, warm weather. So when we got home, we went for an after party to our family house in the country to enjoy some more summer.
