Two finishes

I can't believe it yet, I have two finishes! First of all, Mary Wigham is completed with initials of my stitching friends.

And then the Sticklounge SAL Many Years Ago is completed too. Part 9 is done and I managed to do it before the deadline.

And then there is part two of the KAL Mystery  #29. On to part three!

So long, Marian

This was quite a week, with quite some things done! To start with a finish, the surprise I made for a friend is done. It's a shawl, Windsbraut Padua, a design by Monika Eckert. I used Zitron Filisilk.
Here it is, called So long, Marian. Do I need to tell you she was quite happy with it?

As I went by train to bring the shawl in person, I went to Astrids's Dutch Obsessions in Zwolle. I could not resist a beautiful yarn and pattern. On my way back I saw this:

And of course I stitched this week. May Years Ago part 8 is done! Only one part to go and it is a finish :)

Mary Wigham has two more ornaments. This might be a finish too this year!

And I have a small update on Vibrant Vista, a long lost visitor in my home.

Vacation

DH and I had a very relaxing week. We had a vacation in Germany, we rented a house (on the top of a hill) at the edge of a village,  and stayed there for a whole week! Away from work and all day stress (traffic noise in front of our house is getting worse and worse) we had a week of silence. No radio, no television, no phone, only our little trips in the neighbourhood, our books and my stitching and knitting.
I'll show some picture at the end of this post, for who is interested.

So, due to the hours we needed to get there I had some extra knitting time. And I decided Red Wine was the lucky one this time. So here she is, added more than two rows of flowers.

Many Years Ago part 7 is also done. 

And than there is Call of the Raven, I added at least 2000 stitches, so my goal for this month is reached again :)

Red Wine and Mary

Don't worry, this title is not about Mary and red wine spoiled over her. You might know I love a glass of red wine in the evening. Consider it my nightcap :) Maybe that's why I named my new shawl Red Wine. Since evenings are getting colder I can knit this warm woolen shawl without sweaty hands, so there is progress.

There's also progress on Mary and I am careful with her, especially in the evening ;) So no coffee or wine stains yet, but a finished black ornament and a nearly finished brown one.

Many Years Ago has another part added too. Part 6 is done, three to go!
I still have difficulties with the fabric, there is much frogging involved. Ugh! But the result is what counts, so I keep stitching!

Many Years Ago ...

Yes, Many Years Ago I learned how to stitch and nowadays stitching is my main hobby. Many Years Ago is also the name of this sampler, a SAL run by a German group, Sticklounge.

Part five is done.

Forever Autumn, a KAL run by 'Goddess Knits'. Clue three done. It's the first shawl I do with beads, the picture is a bit overlighted, so you can't see the beads very clear. But, if you take a good look, they are there!

And that is almost everything I accomplished this week, due to a servere cold I was hitting the bed early, almost right after work, so stitching time was reduced to this weekend.

Mary and Autumn

We had beautiful days this week. sunny and warm, so after work I could relaxoutside with my stitching. Mary Wigham grows slowly. Two ornaments are added and her name is stitched.The picture is a bit dark, taken outside in full sunlight, so I had to photoshop a little bit.

Part 4 of Many Years Ago is finished. This sampler is not always a pleasure to stitch. The fabric makes me miscount, so I have to frog now and then en re-stitch.

And there is my knitting. Part two of the Fall Mystery, Forever Autumn as mine is named, is not yet done, but I want to show a clearer picture with beads. I am halfway part two now.

Vacation

First of all I want to thank you for all your lovely comments. It made me happy, to know you all are dancing with me for my finish of the Village.

As you might know I have a long vacation and so I have extra stitching time. But not only stitching time, L can also get some extra sleep, spend more time reading and do some extra cleaning in the house. Our bathroom needed some extra attention, colouring my hair is done and all of a sudden two weeks passed!

I have an update to show.  I joined another Yahoogroup and they run a SAL, called Many Years Ago. You get  a part every two weeks and part one is done.  I stitched this on a Silkweaver 32 ct,  Redwood Forest and I used  Purple of Variegated Pinks by the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.

There is also a new knitting project. A shawl, really big in Fair Isle Technique. It is meant to become like this, but of course I can only show the beginning yet. Its called Jewel Shawl and a Jewel it is, I think.

As far as the knitting I showed last week, I frogged it completely. For now the yarn is laid aside, I have another Mystery Shawl on the go and I will focus on that.
